South Transit LNG Facility

Consulted to Phoenix Transit’s general consultant (Booze-Allen) on the creation of the City’s Phase 1 & 2 South Transit LNG facility to serve the Phoenix Metro bus fleet. Mr. Piraino worked directly with Phoenix Transit to determine an overall LNG plan, a vision of the LNG facility, and a detailed Performance Specification to guide the Phase 1 60,000- gallon LNG facility construction. This facility has been successfully serving the Phoenix Transit LNG bus fleet for over seven years. (FTA funded) Applied has also been selected to design and consult for the 2004 expansion of the South Transit LNG storage facility to its Phase 2, 120,000- gallon capacity. Responsibilities include preliminary research and meetings with operations personnel, site analysis, cost estimation, design, creation of construction documents and specifications, and permitting.
